Hallo allemaal!

Ik ben David, en heb geen W123. Ben hier terecht gekomen via mijn buurman Mark (MJHDuncker) nadat hij een prachtige W123 300TD aanschafte - en er druk mee in de weer ging om de auto in technisch prima staat te krijgen.

Wel heb ik een stuk Mercedes techniek, maar dan in de vorm van een OM621 in mijn boot. Geweldig robuust, ik zie niet gebeuren dat de commonrail diesel uit mijn auto het over 53 jaar nog doet

Afijn, ik lees vele topics met plezier! Verder hoop ik jullie nog eens te mogen 'vervelen' met vragen over mijn OM621

Govert heeft me al van een hoop informatie voorzien, en de sfeer hier op het forum is gewoon super.

Ook welkom, boten forum is ook niet meer wat het geweest is na de overgang.

Toch de Mondeo er maar uit, lekker belasting vrij rijden ? de W123 is er ook in station :-)

Zit er misschien stoerder uit dan het is hoor.

Blok niet open gehad, wel de oliekeerringen bekeken (niet nattig), en alle pakkingen rondom de buitenkant vervangen. Drie olie lekken verholpen (twee voorste motorsteunen lekte olie langs de montage schroeven, en de kettingspanner afdichtring lekte).

Ook nog een vliegwielverzwaring geplaatst in de hoop dat het blok er rustiger (minder trillen) door zal lopen.

Het asje gereviseerd op de brandstofpomp in een poging het roken wat te verminderen. Asje lek=vacuum weg=teveel inspuiting. Met dank aan Govert voor de vele info hierover!

En waarom het blok verven? Omdat het in een boot wat minder toegankelijk is dan in een auto, er geen verfrissend (en drogend) windje waait en de luchtvochtigheid er in de regel hoog is.

De motorruimte aan boord (de bilge) moet nog afgelakt met bilgeverf, en dan binnenkort het blok weer in de boot, op nieuwe motorsteunen. Best klussie (nu 2,5 week bezig). Wel wat hulp gehad hoor met de zware dingen (dank je Mark en Ton!).

Volgens mij had die motor maar drie krukaslagers, waardoor die altijd wat rauw en onrustig liep. Latere dieselmotoren kregen vijf lagers.

Misschien is het verstandig nog wat extra klemmen op de dieselleidingen te zetten.

Veel van die kennis komt van Willem, die hier vroeger nog wel eens postte.

Dank voor 't warme welkom (ook al heb ik geen W123)

Okay laat de credits vooral gaan naar diegene die 't toekomt, maar dan je dan toch zeker voor de moeite om in inmiddels vele PB's een boel info naar me te sturen, erg blij met de info.

Het is inderdaad een motor met een 3-voudige krukas lagering. Ik wil ooit wel een OM615 (5-voudig gelagerd) als deze motor de geest geeft.

Zal wat klemmen toevoegen! Dank voor de tip

De compressie is goed, de ketting niet versleten, de krukaskeerrringen goed, sja... en in een boot heeft het niks te lijden.

Dus de motor gaat gewoon weer terug waar die stond in de boot dus.

Bij schepen zie je wel dat er een vlag gevoerd wordt, zoals hier de vlag van Industrie bij de sleper Spes.

Of het merk motor wordt op de schoorsteen aangegeven, zoals hieronder Kromhout op de schoorsteen van de Dickie. In de Leidse haven ligt een schip met DAF op de schoorsteen.

Heerlijk off-topic hier op t forum. Leuk!

Heb geeneens een W123 en voel me thuis

Ik heb afgelopen zomer wel een stuk of vijf stalen vletten gesleept (scouting) en wat waren ze blij (het was pokkeweer).

En ik kan ook wel de naam op de uitlaat zetten maar dat gaat niet opvallen

en om nou met een giga Mercedesvlag bovenop te gaan varen... kan... maar dan wil ik wel een nieuwe dieselmotor gesponsord krijgen :mrgreen:
